A platform that helps a masjid be transparent should be transparent itself. Here, plainly, is how Masjid Amanah works, how it's funded, and how we care for your data.
Masjid Amanah keeps an honest, accurate record of what happens in a masjid — decisions, meetings, money — kept for the masjid, so nothing is lost or remembered differently. But the trustees remain the accountable party, in charge of their own masjid. We do not adjudicate, we do not enforce, and we never police.
The one line we will never cross is the honesty of the record. The masjid decides how much to share and with whom; but the record itself is always truthful. The platform will never lie for anyone — that is the promise that makes it worth trusting.
Masjid Amanah is a not-for-profit platform, built for the sake of Allah — and there are no plans to charge masjids for it. It isn't a product being sold to you; it's a service offered to you. The only "return" we seek is that it benefits the ummah, and pleases Allah.
Some optional add-ons a masjid may choose (for example, video meetings) are paid by the masjid directly to that third-party provider, at cost — never to us.
Your masjid's records live in London (UK). A few named services process specific data elsewhere — for example the optional AI minutes use US-based speech and drafting services — and every one is listed openly in our sub-processor list. It belongs to your masjid, not to us.
No third-party ad-tracking. Our email runs on Zoho (EU); we avoid invasive analytics and keep the footprint minimal by design.
Sensitive information — safeguarding, welfare, bank details — is tightly access-controlled, so it reaches only those who should see it.
People can ask what's held about them and have it corrected or removed — the data rights every UK charity now owes its community.
No one is forced online. The app sits alongside how a masjid already works — a door held open, not a wall.
Where the platform assists with governance, the code is a help and the trustees decide. AI is advisory; people remain in charge.
